Looming climate disruption and the urgent need to redress electricity injustices for 1.6 billion powerless people pose a daunting challenge. How can we produce power reliably, economically, and without polluting? Even with battery storage, wind and photovoltaics (solar cells) cannot operate reliably 24/7 every day of the year.
Concentrated solar power (CSP) is a power-producing technology that is emerging as a potential solution. The public is invited to hear Bruce Anderson describe how CSP can address climate change and the delivery of power to people without, economically and reliably all day, every day. This event will be held in the Chapel in the Program Building.
