Homicide Suspect Wanted In Bailey's Crossroads With Reward

BAILEY'S CROSSROADS, VA — Fairfax County Police are offering a reward to find a wanted suspect in a shooting that killed one and injured another person in Bailey's Crossroads.

Javon Antonio Reid, 32, of Maryland, is wanted on charges of second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The charges relate to the May 7 shooting at Build America Plaza in the 3800 block of South George Mason Drive. Police had responded to the shooting of two men. One of the men, identified as Maurice Anderson, 24, of Washington D.C. was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. The second man remains hospitalized.

According to police, the men were at a restaurant at the Build America Plaza and got into an argument in the parking lot. The suspect had left the shooting scene in a vehicle before police arrived.

Detectives identified Reid as the suspect based on surveillance footage and interviews.

Detectives are actively searching for Reid. There is a $6,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information can contact the Major Crimes Bureau at 703-246-7800, option 2, or submit a tip through Crime Solvers.
