I-95 Disabled Tractor-Trailer, Flood Watch: DC, NoVA AM Traffic

Good morning, Northern Virginia. Here's everything you need to know for your Wednesday morning commute.

On the Roads

As of 7:48 a.m., a disabled vehicle was reported on the Spout Run Parkway inbound ramp to southbound George Washington Memorial Parkway in Arlington County. Drivers should proceed with caution.

As of 7:47 a.m., a disabled tractor trailer closed the southbound right shoulder on I-95 just north of Fairfax County Parkway in Fairfax County.

As of 7:44 a.m., a crash was reported on southbound I-95 about 0.3 miles north of VA-241/Exit 175B in Fairfax County. One southbound lane is closed.

As of 7:32 a.m., fire department activity on eastbound US-50 about 1.4 miles west of I-66 was closed one lane in Fairfax County.

As of 7:30 a.m., a crash on northbound I-95 has been cleared about 2.4 miles north of Route 619/Exit 150 in Prince William County.

As of 7:26 a.m., a disabled vehicle on northbound I-395 about 0.3 miles south of I-95/495 has closed one lane in Fairfax County.

On the Metro

As of 7:18 a.m., Green and Yellow Line Metro service has been restored between L'Enfant Plaza and Mount Vernon Square after an earlier track inspection outside Gallery Place. Residual delays are possible.

On the Orange Line, the Minnesota Ave, Deanwood, Cheverly, Landover and New Carrollton remain closed through Labor Day due to a summer platform improvement project. Local and express shuttles are available at Stadium-Armory.

Weather

A flood watch is in effect from 2 p.m. Wednesday through the evening in the DC region. Showers and thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon through the evening with average rainfall amounts between 1 to 1.5 inches. Locally higher amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible, and much of the rain could come in one to two hours. Heavy rain in a short amount of time may cause rapidly rising creeks and streams and potential flash flooding in urban areas.
