INNOVATION HEALTH WINS NORTHERN VIRGINIA HEALTHY BUSINESS AWARD
Innovation Health wins the Loudon Chamber of Commerce Healthy Business Award.
Innovation Health, a Northern Virginia health insurance company formed as a result of a unique partnership between Aetna and Inova, has won the Loudon Chamber of Commerce Healthy Business Award. The award honors the winners of the Loudon Healthy Business Challenge, a competition designed to recognize Northern Virginia businesses that have improved the health of their workforce through tailored employee wellness programs. Innovation Health received the Platinum Award in the Entrepreneur Category during the June 24 ceremony at HealthWorks in northern Virginia.
“At Innovation Health, we view employee wellness programs as critical to our mission of improving the health of the Northern Virginia community,” said Amy Turner, Executive Director at Innovation Health. “The Loudon Healthy Business Challenge was a great opportunity to showcase our commitment to the wellness of our own employees, and it’s an honor to be recognized by the Loudon Chamber of Commerce.”
This five month challenge, running from January 8 to May 8, scored companies based on a long list of wellness program criteria, including:

- Educating employees on how to limit their health costs
- Offering on-site preventative health services to employees like flu shots and health screenings
- Providing employees access to certification classes like first aid and CPR
- Promoting stress management opportunities for employees
- Providing educational seminars on self care
- Creating and enforcing a smoke-free work environment
Winners were required to score more than 50 points, and Innovation Health finished the challenge with 174 points.

As their name clearly states, Innovation Health demonstrated a creative commitment to supporting the health and wellness of their employees, clients and their clients’ employees. In doing so they provided an outstanding example for so many other Loudoun companies to follow,” said Tony Howard, President and CEO of the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce.
