Join the National Women's History Museum & The George Washington University on Oct. 22 for "New Beginnings: Immigrant Women and the American Experience"
This discussion will explore the historical experiences of immigrant women in the U.S., and the unique challenges they have faced.

The National Women’s History Museum and The George Washington University invite you to attend “New Beginnings: Immigrant Women and the American Experience,” the fifth forum in their Initiating Change/Adapting to Change lecture series on Wednesday, October 22 at 6pm at The GW Marvin Center.
The discussion will explore the historical experiences of immigrant women in the U.S., and the unique challenges they have faced in integrating into American culture and society, and its effects on contemporary American culture. The forum will be led by Dr. Donna Gabaccia (University of Toronto, Scarborough), a scholar of international migration, gender who has written and edited fifteen books on U.S. immigration, migration in world history, and the worldwide Italian diaspora; and Diane Portnoy, founder of The Immigrant Learning Center (Malden, MA), which provides free English classes to immigrant and refugee adults.
