FALLS CHURCH, VA—The parents of three Falls Church children killed in an alleged drunk driving crash were present for a little library dedication in their honor this week.

Lemon Road Elementary opened the little library in remembrance of 5-year-olds Alexander and Rosalie Mejia and 1-year-old Isaac Mejia, NBC Washington reported. The three siblings died instantly in the crash on Indian Head Highway in Prince George's County, Maryland on Dec. 30, 2018. Their parents Alexis and Juanita Mejia went to the hospital in critical but stable condition.

The accused drunk driver, Thomas Hawks, 27, of White Plains, Maryland, was indicted in January for the fatal crash. Police say the Mejia family's car was stopped at a traffic light when Hawks' truck rear-ended it, causing the truck to stop on top of the rear-passenger compartment of the Mejia family's car.

Hawks was charged with three counts of vehicular manslaughter as result of gross negligence and two counts of causing life-threatening injuries by motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

According to the indictment, Hawks has been driving at nearly 70 mph in a 45 mph zone, The Washington Post reported. He allegedly had a blood alcohol concentration more than twice the legal limit in Maryland.
