Loudoun youth head back to school with new leadership skills
Local Healthcare Business Engages with Loudoun Youth
This summer, Northern Virginia health insurance provider Innovation Health partnered with local organization Loudoun Youth Inc. to teach and inspire local students to become community and personal leaders. As a part of the Leadership Loudoun Youth program, Innovation Health was one of several local companies in charge of running leadership sessions for students attending the July and August week-long sessions.
The main goal of this summer program was to open up opportunities for students and empower them to explore who they are by learning about their own leadership style and giving them a chance to learn from successful leaders in their community. As a part of the summer session’s youth engaged in a variety of hands-on activities with other business, government, and community leaders that were designed to help them identify and improve their leadership skills.
Innovation Health’s onsite leaders, Amy Turner, Executive Director and Nannette Henderson, Chief Financial Officer, were excited to share their knowledge. Facilitating two, two-hour-long sessions each week they introduced students to activities that would show them how to lead with their heart, gut, and mind.
