Man Pleads Guilty To Nearly $800K Robberies In Falls Church Area

Prosecutors believe the man used a gun to steal jewelry worth hundreds of thousands from pawn shops.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — Nearly $800,000 jewelry robberies from West Falls Church pawns shops led to a guilty plea in federal court Thursday.

Budder Khan, 29, of Arlington, pleaded guilty to two counts of interference with commerce by robbery for two robberies. According to court documents the first happened in July 2014 at Route 50 Gold and Jewelry on Arlington Boulevard. Prosecutors say Khan forced employees to the ground with what was believed to be a real gun. He smashed the business’s glass display cases and took jewelry and watches worth over $650,000.

The same scenario happened in April 2015 at Top Pawn Shop on Graham Road. Khan was believed to have a gun, smashed display cases and took over $143,000 worth of jewelry and watches.

Court documents indicate Khan and co-conspirators met up at a hotel in Arlington both times to split up the stolen jewelry and watches.

Khan faces up to 40 years in prison when sentenced on Dec. 6.
