New Falls Church Target Is Hiring As Opening Approaches
The new Target in Falls Church is on track for a March opening date.

FALLS CHURCH, VA—Target has begun hiring for the new Falls Church store expected to open in March 2018. The small-format will be part of a mixed use development at The Lincoln at Tinner Hill, 500 S. Washington Street.
The store is hiring 35 team members during a job fair Jan. 11-12 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. It is being held at The Lincoln (455 S. Maples Avenue). Store leaders are present to conduct pre-scheduled interviews. Anyone interested in applying should visit Target.com/careers.
“We are building our team with 35 new team members who will help serve this active community. As the anchor store for the Lincoln at Tinner Hill development, we are ready to provide a convenient shopping experience with grocery, apparel and more for the families and residents of the Falls Church area,” said Beth Thiesfeldt, store team leader, Target.

Employees make at least $11 per hour after Target announced it was raising the minimum wage in fall 2017. The company also committed to raising minimum wage to $15 by the end of 2020.
The small-format store will provide grocery items with a focus on fresh produce, grab-and-go items and more; home décor; beauty, health and personal care products; clothing; electronics and entertainment; toys and sporting goods and a CVS Pharmacy.

The Falls Church area currently has a full Target store at 6100 Arlington Boulevard. The newest store will be the 42nd in the DC area. The most recent opening was a Bethesda location in late 2017, while a nearby Ballston Target is expected to open by 2021. The retailer plans to have more than 130 small-format stores by the end of 2019, geared toward urban, suburban and college campus areas.
