From Newtown to New Hope

An interfaith memorial service on third anniversary of Newtown shootings

On the third anniversary of the Sandy Hook school shootings, clergy and community leaders from Fairfax County and beyond will gather at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax, 2709 Hunter Mill Road in Oakton on Monday evening, December 14th at 7:30pm to honor victims of gun violence and to call for people of faith to renew their commitment to ending gun violence.

The public is cordially invited to attend this important event.

UUCF’s Senior Minister Rev. David A. Miller will lead this service of music and reflections. Other service participants will include: Delegate Kathleen Murphy, Rev. David K. North, director of Mosaic Harmony choir and pastor at Holy Redeemer Metropolitan Church in College Park, MD; Rev. Kate Walker, minister at Mount Vernon Unitarian Church; Imam Ali Siddiqui, from the Islamic Center of Northern Virginia; and Senior Rabbi Amy Schwartzman, from Temple Rodaf Shalom in Falls Church.
