But imagine collecting $1,000 every day for the rest of your life. Not too shabby, right? Someone who played the Virginia Lottery’s Cash4Life® game has done just that. Now the Virginia Lottery is waiting for that winner to come forward, lottery officials said in a news release this weekend.

The winning ticket was bought at a Harris Teeter grocery store, 6351 Columbia Pike, in the Falls Church area of Fairfax County at the Barcroft Plaza Shopping Center. It matched all six numbers in the January 7 Cash4Life® drawing. Those winning numbers are 14-31-37-54-56, and the Cash Ball number is 1.

Whoever has that ticket will have the choice of taking $1,000 per day for the rest of his or her life or a one-time cash option of $7 million, according to the Virginia Lottery.

The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 21.8 million. The odds of winning the second prize are 1 in 7.2 million. The second prize, for matching the first five numbers but not the Cash Ball number, is $1,000 per week for the rest of the winner’s life.

Cash4Life® is currently played in Virginia, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Tennessee. Drawings are held Monday and Thursday evenings at 9 p.m. Each play costs $2.

The Virginia Lottery generates more than $1.4 million per day for Virginia’s K-12 public schools. Operating entirely on revenue from the sale of Lottery products, the Virginia Lottery generated nearly $534 million for Virginia’s public schools in Fiscal Year 2015.
