Old Town Theater May Get New Tenant

The company that bought the property is unsure if it will remain a movie theater.

There's a chance Old Town Theater could reopen as a similar concept. That is, if it gets the right tenant.

Asana, the company that bought the former theater space in January, is looking for a tenant, Alexandria Gazette Packet reported.

"We're actively marketing the space and we're in conversations with several different users. We think it's one of the most iconic buildings in Old Town," Reed Kracke, Asana's development director, told the newspaper.

Asana bought the property from businessman Jeff Yates, who died in February. Its other ventures on King Street include the soon-to-open Conte's Bike Shop, retail and office space at the former European Country Living and newly-approved Mexican restaurant Urbano 116.
