MERRIFIELD, VA — Brine, a restaurant serving seafood and meats, will close after five years at the Mosaic District. The last day of business is Saturday, Jan. 11.

The farm-to-table restaurant opened in May 2015, offering a raw bar, wood-fired grill and rotisserie. The owner is Travis Croxton, who is also one of the co-owners of Rappahannock Oyster Co. and its oyster and clam farms in the Chesapeake Bay. According to Eater DC, the restaurant served up a burger that earned praise from customers. Rappahannock Oyster Co. recently opened in the food hall at the new Whole Foods store in Tysons.

Brine announced the upcoming closure on Facebook. "We are proud of what we have brought to the table over the last 5 years and are going out with a bang - we have the best team we've ever had and would love for you to come in one, or several, last times to break bread and thank our team for their years of hard work, service and loyalty to bringing fresh mid-Atlantic seafood and hospitality to you.
