Tysons Whole Foods With Food Hall, Pub Opens Oct. 30

TYSONS, VA — Grand opening festivities for the new Whole Foods Market at The Boro development in Tysons are set for Wednesday, Oct. 30. The store, featuring local supplier items, a food hall, pub and game room, will open its doors at 8 a.m. After opening day, store hours will be 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. The store's address is 1635 Boro Place, McLean.

Before the store opens Wednesday morning, enjoy free coffee from Manassas-based Café Kreyol, breakfast bites from DC's Poppy's Stuffed Bagels and music. The first 200 customers will receive a custom Whole Foods Market Tysons Corner reusable tote bag and a savings card with a mystery value ranging between $5 and $100.

The 70,000-square-foot multi-level store is the flagship location for the Mid-Atlantic region. Among the features are an Allegro Coffee and tea bar, JRINK juice bar, cheese section with over 100 offerings, and prepared food area with two tandoori ovens, a barbecue bar, deli and pizza bar. Customers can try hands-on selections with a juice presser, self-serve pineapple coring machine, nut butter grinder, pour-your-own beer and wine, and more. Thousands of products are from Virginia, Maryland and D.C. local suppliers.

The food hall can be found on the same level as the grocery store. Among the vendors are Michelin-Star Chef Nicholas Stefanelli's Officina, sushi, poke and more from Genji Izakaya, Curiosity Doughnuts and Rappahannock Oyster Co.

Head to the upper level for High Point, a pub and game room. Guests can find self-serve food such as a taco station, classic bar grub, Detroit style pizza, garlic knots and arancini. Drink options include eight varieties of wine, 12 beers on tap as well as craft cocktails. High Point offers indoor and outdoor patio seating along with board games and retro arcade games. This level is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The Tysons location is the 10th Whole Foods store in Northern Virginia. The retailer is known for its natural and organic foods, offering only products without hydrogenated fats, high-fructose corn syrup and artificial sweeteners.
