Target To Open Another Falls Church Store

BREAKING: A new Target store in Falls Church is expected to open in the spring of 2018.

FALLS CHURCH, VA — A new Target is slated to open in March 2018 at Tinner Hill in Falls Church, the company announced Wednesday.

The location will be a small-format store in the mixed-use development Tinner Hall area. Other small-format locations are in Rosslyn, College Park, Md. and Bethesda, Md. A Ballston Target is expected to open by 2021.

The store will provide grocery items with a focus on fresh produce, grab-and-go items and more; home décor; beauty, health and personal care products; clothing; electronics and entertainment; toys and sporting goods and a CVS Pharmacy.

“This is a big win for the City of Falls Church,” said Mayor David Tarter in a statement. “The Target team, Lincoln at Tinner Hill, and the Economic Development Office have worked tirelessly to make this a reality. The store is a perfect fit for the City’s vibrant, diverse community of families, young professionals, and active adults."

Falls Church currently has a full Target store at 6100 Arlington Blvd. The retailer plans to have more than 130 small-format stores by the end of 2019, geared toward urban, suburban and college campus areas.

“We’re thrilled to bring a small-format Target to the heart of Falls Church at the intersection of South Washington Street and Tinner Hill Road,” said Mark Schindele, senior vice president of Properties for Target in a statement. “Target’s robust assortment of stylish and affordable apparel, home accessories and beauty products, along with our grocery offerings, will be conveniently available for the many residents living within and near the Lincoln at Tinner Hill mixed-use development, and easily accessible for the surrounding community of Falls Church.”
