Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe: Look for Hillary to Decide Whether to Run for President After November

"She's thinking about it," he said. "Until she makes that final decision, you just don't know."

Look for Hillary Clinton to make a decision about whether to run for president after the November elections, says Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, a family friend who helped run her previous run for president.

“She has not made up her mind, in fairness...wants to get through the November election,” McAuliffe said on WTOP’s “Ask the Governor,” in response to a question from a caller in Arlington.

McAuliffe noted that he was “just with her the other day,” and said that it’s a time now for Clinton to relax before making the big decision.

Clinton has “just finished her book tour...she’s enjoying her summer,” he said.

“She’s doing exactly what she said she would do,” he said. “ She’s been on that roller coaster for a very long time. I’m a huge fan, I’d love to see her run.”

When asked if he would consider running as VP, McAuliffe said: “I love being the governor. This is as good as it gets. The presidential will start very soon, after the November elections.”

There has been speculation that Virginia’s Sen. Mark Warner or Sen. Tim Kaine could be a possible running mate.

Former U.S. Sen. Jim Webb, who lives in the Falls Church area, has created some 2016 presidential buzz of his own, with a recent visit to Iowa. Iowa caucuses are one of the first tests for presidential political candidates.
