VIRGINIA — Unofficial results are in for Tuesday's Virginia primary elections that will determine which state legislature and local candidates advance to the Nov. 5 general election.

All Virginia Senate and House of Delegates seats will be up for grabs in the general election, leaving party control hanging in the balance. Republicans control the state House with a 51-49 majority and the state Senate with a 21-19 majority. Polls were open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11.

In one of the closely watched races, Senate Minority Leader Dick Saslaw held off his first Democratic primary challenge since he first ran for Virginia's Senate in 1979. Saslaw got 48.5 percent of the vote, followed by Yasmine Taeb with 45.4 percent and Karen Torrent with 6 percent.
