Wegmans, Giant, Safeway: NoVA Thanksgiving Grocery Store Hours

WASHINGTON, DC — If Thanksgiving finds you racing to the store to buy dinner rolls, another pie or sweet potatoes, don't worry. Plenty of grocery stores will be open across the District and northern Virginia for your last-minute shopping needs.

Here are the hours for grocery stores that will be open on Thanksgiving Day 2019, along with a list of those that won’t. Information is taken from their websites, social media and emails to Patch. Some stores may vary:

• Wegmans Food Markets: Stores will close at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28, and will reopen at 6 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 29.
• Giant Foods: Grocery open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.; pharmacy open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Food Lion: All stores are open regular hours.
• Safeway: Open until 7 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
• Weis Markets: Stores are open until 6 p.m.
• Harris Teeter: Stores open 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Whole Foods: Hours vary by location. Many stores open at 7 a.m. and close as early as 2 p.m.; it's best to check their local store hours online.
• ShopRite Supermarkets: Open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.; check your local store's Facebook page or call the store to check hours.
• CVS: Hours vary but most locations are open normal hours, including 24-hour stores.
• Fresh Market: All stores open 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Walmart: Open normal hours for grocery shoppers on Thanksgiving, but check with stores for variation. Black Friday deals start at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, online and 6 p.m. Thanksgiving in store.
• Target: All stores are open from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.
