19-Year-Old Shot Dead In Spotsylvania County: Police
The sheriff's office said it has several witnesses and has detained a person for questioning about the shooting.
SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA — Spotsylvania police are investigating the killing of a 19-year-old man Wednesday afternoon at a townhouse complex off Salem Church Road southwest of Fredericksburg. Spotsylvania County Sheriff Office deputies arrived on the scene in the area of 11600 Summerfield Court at 2:49 p.m. Dec. 4 to find the man with a gunshot wound.
The man, Noah Waters, from Spotsylvania County, was transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries. Five schools were put on lockdown Wednesday afternoon due to their proximity to the shooting. The lockdown was lifted after about an hour.
The sheriff's office said its detectives are still piecing together the exact sequence of events. The office has several witnesses and has detained a person for questioning about the shooting.
