2nd Degree Murder Charge Filed In Fatal Stabbing Of Fredericksburg Woman
Police arrested a suspect in the fatal stabbing of Stephanie Minter of Fredericksburg at a Fairfax County bus stop on Monday, reports say.

HYBLA VALLEY, VA — Fairfax County police have charged a suspect with second-degree murder in connection to the fatal stabbing of 41-year-old Stephanie Minter of Fredericksburg at a Hybla Valley bus stop on Monday night, according to authorities.
Officers responded around 6:15 p.m. to Richmond Highway and Arlington Drive in Hybla Valley for a death investigation, according to the incident report. They found Minter inside a bus shelter with multiple stab wounds to her upper body.
The officers immediately began life-saving efforts, which they continued until the arrival of emergency medical personnel from Fairfax County Fire and Rescue, according to the report. Minter was declared deceased at the scene.

After reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses, investigators determined that 32-year-old Abdul Jalloh of an undetermined address was the last person to be seen with Minter, according to the report. He was seen exiting the bus at Richmond Highway and Arlington Drive.

Chief Kevin Davis told Fox5 reporter Marissa Mitchell on Tuesday morning that Jalloh was a person of interest in the case and was known to frequent the Route 1 corridor.
Around 4 p.m. that same day, officers responded to a business in the 8600 block of Richmond Highway in Woodlawn, according to FCPD. An employee contacted police after recognizing Jalloh as a person of interest in the Hybla Valley homicide. The officers also linked Jalloh to a larceny that had occurred earlier in the day in the 8700 block of Richmond Highway.
Jalloh was arrested and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with larceny. He was then held without bond.
On Wednesday, detectives determined that Jalloh had fatally stabbed Minter and charged him with second-degree murder, according to police. He continues to be held without bond at the ADC.
Jalloh was scheduled to be arraigned at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday in Fairfax County General District Court, according to court documents. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for 2 p.m. on May 13.
In Virginia, a person who is convicted of second-degree murder faces a potential sentence of five to 40 years in prison and a fine of up to $100,000.
