FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Residents have until close of business Nov. 16 to submit comments or questions about plans for Fredericksburg's proposed Fire Station 3 at 3340 Fall Hill Ave., according to a city project notice.
The proposal calls for a 25,350-square-foot building, a 5,100-square-foot building and related infrastructure on the south side of Fall Hill Avenue at its intersection with Wicklow Drive.
Members of the public can email inquiries or comments to mesherman@fredericksburgva.gov. The project is identified as SPMAJ2610-0068.
The notice says the project would proceed under special use permit R26-14, approved April 14. The property is zoned R-2 residential.
Patch previously reported on a March 11 Planning Commission hearing scheduled to consider the fire department's special use permit request. The current notice concerns the site plans and a public comment deadline.

According to the project narrative, the station is intended to reduce emergency response times on Fredericksburg's growing west side and provide backup for the city's two existing fire stations. Plans call for the station to operate around the clock.
The site is on city-owned property known as Snowden Park. The plans say the park's ball courts, playground and community gardens would remain, with parking provided for recreational uses.
The proposed station also includes a front display area for a historic fire engine that would remain available for special events and parades.
