Armed Robbery at Gas Station in Fredericksburg

Two suspects sought in investigation, according to Fredericksburg City Police.

Two unidentified men held up a Fredericksburg gas station owner on Monday night, according to the Fredericksburg City Police Department.

Officers responded at 10:35 p.m. Monday to the Sunoco at 2307 Jefferson Davis Highway.

The owner reported that two men entered the store with their faces covered and one of the men immediately displayed a handgun. The second man walked behind the counter and demanded money from the register.

After the owner complied, the suspects took the entire cash drawer and fled on foot.

A police K-9 followed the trail of the suspects to Townsend Square Apartments, where the cash drawer was found on the ground with most of the money missing. The dog tracked the suspects into the apartment complex, but they were not located.

Police describe the suspects as:

  • a black male 20-25 years old, 5’9” and 250 pounds (approximate), armed with a handgun, wearing dark jeans and a black hoodie; and
  • a black male 18-20 years old, 5’6” and 150 pounds (approximate), wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie.
