‘Blankets and Puppies’ Class Benefits Old Dominion Humane Society Rescue Dogs

Instructors Hunter Bufkin and Christine Bowman, owners of Tales and Tails, taught attendees how to knit cozy blankets with their choice of four yarn colors. The instructors walked guests through the steps to create the blankets that are perfect for curling up with a favorite dog or book. Attendees were kept entertained by ODHS puppies that were happy to get the attention and lots of snuggles. Proceeds from “Blankets and Puppies” were donated to the care of ODHS rescue dogs, which are saved from neglect, hoarding and other situations, as well as taken from high-kill shelters where they would otherwise have been euthanized.
ODHS is located at 3602 Lafayette Boulevard in Fredericksburg. Adoption events are Wednesdays from 5-7 p.m., Fridays from 6-8 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Applications in advance are preferred and take priority over walk-ins.
