Celebrate Fredericksburg's Veterans at a Ceremony in Their Honor

The Fredericksburg Area Veterans Council will host a ceremony recognizing the area's veterans at the Memorial to Our Fallen Heroes

A ceremony honoring Fredericksburg’s veterans will offer an opportunity for residents to recognize area veterans and remember 400 soldiers from the area who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Veteran’s Day is Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014.

Stop by the Memorial to Our Fallen Heroes, at the junction of George, Barton and Liberty streets in downtown Fredericksburg, where the Veterans Day ceremony will begin at 10:45 a.m. this Veterans Day. The event is hosted by the Fredericksburg Area Veterans Council (FAVC) and the Warfighters Motorcycle Club.

The ceremony will include a presentation of colors, a Veterans Day message from FAVC Chairman Christopher Cammack, a keynote speech from FBI agent and U.S. Army veteran James F. Yacone, and an overflight from Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1099.

The Memorial to Our Fallen Heroes records the names of more than 400 soldiers from Fredericksburg and the five surrounding counties who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The FAVC requests all veterans and current members of the Armed Forces wear their awards and decorations to the ceremony.
