Fredericksburg Man Arrested, Accused In June Stabbing: Police
The Fredericksburg Police Department arrested on Thursday after he was charged in connection with a stabbing that hospitalized one person.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A man was arrested on Thursday and charged in connection with a stabbing that left one person hospitalized in June, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department. Authorities identified the man as Jermaine Conway.
Conway was arrested in the City of Fredericksburg on Thursday, Aug. 5. He faces several felony charges, including aggravated malicious wounding and identity theft.
The stabbing occurred in the 100 block of Wellington Lakes Drive in Fredericksburg on June 21, according to police. The stabbing was reported to police around 9 p.m.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a victim suffering from stab wounds, according to the police report. They provided first aid until rescue personnel arrived.

Emergency personnel took the victim, whose identity was not disclosed by authorities, to a nearby hospital for treatment. They made a full recovery, the police department said.
Conway is charged with aggravated malicious wounding, providing false identity to law enforcement, and identity theft. He is being held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
One week after the stabbing, a shooting led to the death of a man in the 100 block of Wellington Lakes Drive, according to authorities. Chinonso Ibe, a 39-year-old Stafford resident, was shot and killed in the area on June 26.

The day after Ibe's death, a suspect was taken into custody. Jacquin Davis, a Fredericksburg resident, was arrested and charged in connection with the murder, police said. He was held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
Davis is charged with second degree murder, and his next court date is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 10.
The Fredericksburg area has seen multiple instances of violent crime throughout the summer. In addition to the incidents on Wellington Lakes Drive, there were two unrelated shootings in the 3300 block of Fall Hill Avenue.

In June, two men exchanged gunfire outside of a shopping center's barber shop, police said at the time. Last week, a man fired multiple rounds at a victim after an argument.
