Seven Wonders of the Organized World
I snagged this fabulous list of organizing strategies from my dear friend, Dawn Fiorillo. Dawn is an Executive Consultant with Clever Container and busy wife and mother–not that you would know that…she always appears perfectly together and organized! After reading this list, you will know some of Dawn’s savvy tips!
I don’t know about you, but if I have a manageable list…I can do about anything (except math…that just isn’t going to happen).

1. Everything in your world must have a “home” and everyone must know where the item’s “home” is.
2. In order to manage possessions, you need to love it, use it, or lose it! ( I need to embroider this advice on a pillow…or tattoo on my forearm.)

3. Whenever possible, sort small, and always within established boundaries. ( This is a key strategy in drawer and cabinet organization.)
4. Create meaningful lists and live by those lists. This might be a grocery list or “Out Of” list. Once your family learns how the lists work, an effective tool will have been added!
5. Develop household systems that work for you. Once you have created systems, train others in your home to work systems FOR you (and with you).
6. Respect the value of prime property in your house. Only the most important or needed items are able to “live” near prime household real estate. (Usually, prime real estate includes visible areas and common living areas.)
7. To avoid feeling overwhelmed and unorganized, set aside 20 minutes to straighten your living quarters each day.
