Man Faces Myriad Charges After Stafford Police Chase

A man is being held without bond after traffic stop Friday for defective lights led to a chase in Stafford and the discovery of warrants.

STAFFORD, VA — A man is being held without bond after a simple traffic stop Friday night for defective lights led to a high-speed chase and the discovery of outstanding felony warrants, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. James McFall. 48, was charged with eluding, driving while habitual, reckless driving and defective equipment. He also was served with the felony larceny warrants from Spotsylvania County.

Shortly after 7 p.m., a deputy spotted a vehicle headed south on Route 1 with no tail lights. He hit his lights but the vehicle kept going before finally stopping on State Shop Road. McFall opened the door and was told to stay inside the vehicle, turn it off and put both hands on the steering wheel. (For more local news, click here to sign up for real-time news alerts. Further investigation revealed the driver's identity. Police received a tip about his whereabouts Sunday, and he was arrested.
