Police: Cooking Oil Thief Is On the Loose
Several Fredericksburg restaurants were burglarized last week.

Fredericksburg police are investigating the recent thefts of used cooking oil from several local restaurants.
On Friday morning, a represetative from Valley Proteins reported to police that at some time the previous night, an unknown person stole a large quantity of used cooking oil from several restaurants in the 2300 block of Plank Road, according to a police report.

Valley Proteins is a Baltimore firm that recycles animal byproducts like used cooking oil into feed ingredients and biofuels, according to the company’s website.
The local restaurants that were burglarized included Teppanyaki Buffet, Wendy’s and Dixie Bones, police said. A similar larceny also occurred at Tito’s Diner in Central Park.
