After a brief time, one of the two sprinted away and was apprehended by police near a wooded area bordering the property. While this suspect was being taken into custody, the second suspect apparently fled from the scene, police said.

A number of tools were then discovered on the ground near where the suspects were first spotted, and there was damage evident on the door, police said. Novalski’s vehicle was found in a parking lot nearby and was towed to police headquarters for further processing.
