Robbery Suspect Wears White Makeup in Heist

Spotsylvania Detectives say black man wore a "white makeup-like substance" on his face to conceal his identity during gas station robbery.

Spotsylvania detectives say a black male suspect put white makeup on his face to conceal his identity during a gas station robbery Tuesday morning.

Images were released of the suspect in the robbery at 6:25 a.m. at the Shell gas station in the 5300 block of Jefferson Davis Highway.

“The suspect tried to conceal his identity by wearing a white makeup-like substance on his face,” according to Capt. Troy J. Skebo with the Sheriff’s Office.

While he didn’t show a weapon, the suspect did demand money from the clerk. He was last seen running from the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police Arrest Local Man for Stealing Backpack

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, approximately 5’7” and 170 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and grey sweatshirt. He was wearing black rimmed glasses and a baseball cap.

Deputy Nick Ridings and his K-9 partner “Jase” along with Detectives were able to recover evidence that the suspect discarded near the scene. Detectives are currently following up on leads.
