Teacher Accused of Sex With Students Indicted on 8 Felony Charges

Erica Lynne Mesa faces charges in alleged sexual encounters with two students.

A Stafford County high school teacher arrested in September for having sex with students has been indicted on eight felony charges, according to Fredericksburg.com.

Erica Lynne Mesa, 27 of Fredericksburg, went before a Stafford County grand jury Monday, Dec. 1. The court charged her with 4 counts of custodian indecent liberties and 4 counts of soliciting a minor using a computer.

The former Colonial Forge High School teacher reportedly admitted to having sex with at least four students starting in 2012, Fredericksburg.com reports. The students ranged in age from 16 to 18. Charges so far involve two students.

A statement from sheriff’s spokesperson Bill Kennedy in September noted that Mesa also sent nude photos of herself to a 17-year-old boy.

Mesa will face trial at Stafford County Circuit Court.
