VA Man Faces 6 Child Porn Possession Charges

SPOTSYLVANIA, VA — A Spotsylvania man is facing six counts of possession of child pornography, following an investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children unit of the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office, according to authorities.

Acting on a Cybertip from the Center of Missing and Exploited Children, the ICAC unit executed a search warrant Thursday at a residence in the 1100 block of Wilderness Park Drive in Spotsylvania County. Multiple electronic devices containing images of child sexual abuse material were seized, according to authorities.

Leonard Joseph Krol was arrested and charged with six counts of the possession, reproduction, distribution, solicitation, and facilitation of child pornography. He was then held without bond.

On Friday morning, Krol was arraigned in Spotsylvania Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for 2 p.m. on April 1, according to court records.

Anyone who knowingly possesses child pornography is guilty of a Class 6 felony, under the Code of Virginia. If Krol is found guilty on any of the six charges, he faces a possible sentence of one to five years in prison or up to 12 months in jail and/or a fine of up to $2,500.
