A Weekend Skateboard Ride Ends in Assault

Fredericksburg police are looking for a group of five young adults who allegedly assaultd two 15-year-old boys on Saturday afternoon and stole their skateboards.

According to a police report, the strong-arm robbery occurred at about 2:30 p.m.in the 600 block of Kenmore Avenue. The two 15-year-olds told police they were assaulted while skateboarding with two other teenage friends in a parking lot off Kenmore Avenue.

The two teenagers told police that while they were riding their skateboards, an adult male started yelling at them from an upper-level window above the Grapevine Café. A short time later, the same man, accompanied by two other men and two young women, entered the parking lot.

The first man punched one of the victims in the face, then a second man joined in the assault. The first assailant also stole both skateboards belonging to the first victim.

The 15-year-old friend of the victim told police he tried to intervene in the assault, but he was held back by the third adult male, who grabbed his cell phone and threw it against a wall, damaging the screen. One of the young women then grabbed the second victim’s skateboard, and all of the suspects left on foot.

The first victim received facial injuries during the assault, according to the police report..

The suspects were described as:

• Assailant #1: White male, 19 to 20 years old, with short brown hair and no facial hair. He has a muscular build and tattoos on his neck and arms.
• Assailant #2: White male, 19 to 20 years old, with short brown hair and no facial hair. He was more muscular than the first assailant and had a tattoo of a cross on his right bicep.
• Male #3: White male, heavyset, 20 to 21 years old with short brown hair and no facial hair. He was wearing khaki pants and a black sweater.
• Female #1: White female, 16 to 17 years old, 5 feet 1 inches tall and weighing 105 pounds, with shoulder-length curly hair. She was wearing jeans.
• Female #2: White female, 18 to 19 years old, 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 120 pounds.
