• Tech Giant Files Application For New Data Center In Prince William County: Report (patch.com) — A major new Microsoft data center is planned for University Boulevard in Gainesville, potentially adding two large buildings and an on-site substation on 123 acres near an Amazon-owned site. The project, inside Prince William’s Data Center Opportunity Zone, would affect local streams and wetlands and has already raised questions about power demand, environmental impacts, and how it fits into the county’s evolving data center policies.
   

• Helping People With Dementia Reconnect Through Music (aarp.org) — A Gainesville resident, retired virologist Connie Young, helped cofound a dementia-friendly choir that uses music to reconnect people with memory loss and their caregivers. Working with Manassas choral director Susan Dommer, she now helps lead regular performances at local senior centers, showing families how familiar songs can spark joy, communication, and a sense of safety even in advanced dementia.
