Assault Charge Filed Against Herndon Man: Police Report

HERNDON, VA — Hendon police arrested a local man in connection with an assault in town, according to the weekly crime report.

Police charged Ronald Lewis Darne, 73, of Herndon, for assaulting a person who was known to him on Aug. 2, in the 800 block of Fall Place. Darne is being held without bail at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Between Aug. 2-8, Town of Herndon police officers issued 111 traffic summonses, including two for driving while intoxicated, 18 for driving with no operator's license, three for driving on a suspended or revoked license and six for operating a vehicle while holding a phone.

There were five reportable traffic accidents in Herndon. Virginia State Police define "reportable crashes" as those that result in $1,500 in property damage and/or injury.
