Adolescent mental health concerns are rising, and families are often left wondering where to turn. This evening is designed to educate, equip, and connect our community with trusted information and meaningful resources.
Herndon UMC is grateful to offer this evening around the state of adolescent mental health for our community.
The event will include an opening statement provided by Rev. Scott Bach-Hansen about his own connection to mental health with his family and why this event is important. There will be a keynote presentation on Adolescent Mental Health by Jen Evans, Director of Mental Health Student Services for Loudon County Public Schools. After Jen's presentation, there will be a question-and-answer session with a panel of guests, which includes Jen Evans; a representative from Herndon Police Department's Crisis Response Team; a mental health counselor, Shannon Wise; Jenn Marshall, the Executive Director of Wellness Loudoun (www.wellnessloudoun.org); and a representative from the company GeneSight (genesight.com).
This event is FREE and OPEN TO EVERYONE. Refreshments will be provided.
The event is possible thanks to support from St. Mark's UMC in Manassas, VA, and the Northern Virginia District of the United Methodist Church.
