Car Involved In Fatal Hit-And-Run Identified By Fairfax Police

DRANESVILLE, VA — Fairfax County Police are asking the public's help in locating a car that left the scene of a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run recently in Great Falls, according to a police release.

Allen Romero, 43, of McLean was struck around 5:21 a.m., on May 16, as he was crossing the road near the intersection of Leesburg Pike and Redberry Court in Great Falls.

Using the part numbers of the driver's side mirror that was left at the scene, detectives from FCPD's Crash Reconstruction Unit were able to identify the striking vehicle as a 2017 black Ford Fusion. They also believe that the model of the car is either a SE, Titanium, Platinum or V6 Sport package.

Police ask anyone with information about this incident or knowledge about the driver or the 2017 Ford Fusion to contact the Crash Reconstruction Unit at 703-280-0543. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Solvers by phone – 1-866-411-TIPS (866-411-8477), by text – Type “FCCS” plus tip to 847411, or online. Anyone who submits an anonymous tip that leads to an arrest is eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000.

Romero is the fifth pedestrian killed in a crash in Fairfax County in 2021.
