Naturalist Peter Munroe will continue his exploration of "How Life in the Park Survives Winter." In our previous ramble we learned how various plants and animals prepare for the coming cold; this meeting will explore survival--temperature regulation, hibernation, finding food. The 20 minute presentation will be followed by a walk in the park with Peter to look for examples of what we've learned.
Rambles in Runnymede are free of charge. They are not suited for very young children. No reservations are necessary. Just meet at the picnic shelter near the entrance to the park, which is along Herndon Parkway. Dress for the weather.
Herndon’s 58 acre nature park provides passive recreational opportunities, and features a native plant garden with over 100 different species of plant, flowers and wildlife.
