Heritage District Residents Needed To Serve On Review Boards

HERNDON, VA -- Are you a resident of the Heritage District? Do you want to help out your community? The Town of Herndon needs people interested in serving on the town's architectural and heritage preservation review boards (ARB-HPRB), according to a town press release.

The Town Council appoints members to the ARB-HPRB to ensure that property owners and builders maintain architecturally compatible qualities throughout the town and make sure buildings and sites in the town's historic district keep their historic integrity.

Those interested in filling the current vacancy on the ARB-HPRB must be a town resident and be willing to serve on both boards. Both boards have one work session and one public hearing per month, which means a commitment to attending four meetings per month in total. ARB-HPRB members would need to attend HPRB work sessions that start at 7 p.m., followed by the ARB work session at 7:30 p.m. HPRB public hearings begin at 7 p.m., followed by the ARB public hearing at 7:30 p.m. Board members earn $100 per month.
