Herndon Councilmember Dies In Car Crash
Jeff Davidson, a councilman in the Town of Herndon, died over the weekend.

HERNDON, VA -- Jeff Davidson, who served as a councilman in the Town of Herndon, passed away over the weekend following a car crash in late March.
Herndon Mayor Lisa Merkel made the announcement in a Facebook post. Davidson reportedly had been injured in a crash on Catoctin Hallow Road in Frederick, Md. when his car crashed into a guardrail, drifted into the southbound lane, and was hit by a pickup truck.
"It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that our friend and colleague Jeff Davidson passed away yesterday as a result of injuries sustained in last week’s accident," Merkel wrote. "The Council and I are keeping his family in our thoughts, and will let you know when any arrangements are announced."

The Town of Herndon website states that Davidson had lived in Herndon since 1986, and was in his first term as a councilmember. He had retired from a 30-year career at the Defense Technical Information Center in 2016.
He was also a certified private pilot who built his own aircraft.
