Herndon Rape Suspect Arrested At Dulles Airport: Police

Police apprehended a suspect at Washington Dulles International Airport in connection with the December rape of a juvenile.

HERNDON, VA — Police arrested a man in connection with the rape of a juvenile victim last December in the Herndon area, according to the weekly crime report.

On Feb. 25 police apprehended Rey Oraa Amparado, 39, of no fixed address, at Washington Dulles International Airport. Police charged Amparado with two counts of forcible rape of a juvenile victim who was known to him.

The incident occurred Dec. 18, 2019, in the 500 block of Aspen Drive in Herndon.

During the week of Feb. 24-March 1, Town of Herndon officers issued 100 traffic summons, including two for driving while intoxicated and five for driving with no operators license.

There were five reportable traffic accidents in Herndon during the week. Virginia State Police define "reportable crashes" as those that result in $1,500 in property damage and/or injury.
