Fairfax County Fire and Rescue officials said the fire that happened at Aaoji in downtown Herndon on Sunday was accidental.
Fire crews responded to the scene, at 724 Pine St., at about 10:05 a.m. on Sunday, where they saw heavy smoke coming from the building when they arrived. They conducted an attack on the fire from the inside, bringing it under control within about 30 minutes.
The fire began in the kitchen, where intense heat from a natural gas cooking appliance caused a fire to start at the subfloor. Extensive overhaul operations were conducted in the kitchen and to the ceiling. Damage is estimated at $150,000.
