Herndon Teen Charged With Sexually Assaulting Minor
The Town of Herndon Police Department arrested a 15-year-old juvenile in connection with the October sexual assault of a minor.

HERNDON, VA -- Officers from the Town of Herndon Police Department arrested a 15-year-old juvenile for sexual assault after having sexual contact with a minor known to him Oct. 17, 2019, in the 600 block of Dulles Park Court, according to the weekly crime report.
Other major incidents in the Town of Herndon include:
- Burglary-Commercial: On Wednesday, Jan. 15, two individuals entered a business in the 900 block of Herndon Parkway through a side door and stole cash registers. On Saturday, Jan. 18, an individual entered a business in the 900 block of Herndon Parkway through the side door and tried to break into a safe. Other property was stolen. Both cases, in which there were no signs of forced entry, remain under investigation.
- Carjacking: Police arrested Steven Michael Edwards, 37, of Herndon on Sunday, Jan. 19, and charged him with hit and run; driving on a revoked license; and carjacking a victim who was know to him. Edwards was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and held without bond.
During the week of Jan. 14-21, Town of Herndon officers issued 119 traffic summons, including 1 for driving while intoxicated, 10 for driving with no operators license, and 1 for driving on a suspended license.

There were 14 reportable traffic accidents in Herndon during the week. Virginia State Police define "reportable crashes" as those that result in $1,500 in property damage and/or injury.
