Man Assaulted, Robbed Near W&OD Trail: Police Report
Herndon Police are investigating three burglaries in town and an attack and robbery incident that took place near the W&OD trail.

HERNDON, VA -- Town of Herndon Police are investing three recent burglaries — two commercial and one residential — and an assault and robbery near the W&OD Trail, according to the weekly crime report.
The two commercial burglaries occurred at two businesses in the 900 block of Herndon Parkway. In the first incident, the business reported an individual forced entry into the backdoor of the building on Monday, Feb. 3, at about 10:30 p.m. Employees confronted the individual, who then fled the scene.
As police were investigating the first commercial burglary on Tuesday, Feb. 4, they noticed the backdoor of a neighboring business was unsecured. After contacting the owner, police determined a male suspect entered the building and took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register. The suspect was wearing black athletic pants, white sneakers, a dark gray hoodie with a white hat over the hoodie.

On Tuesday, Feb. 3, an unknown number of individuals forced their way through the backdoor of a home in the 1100 block of Cypress Tree Place and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

Four juveniles approached a man as he was was entering the W&OD Trail in the 900 block of Jorss Place on Wednesday, Feb. 5, around 4 p.m. The juveniles assaulted the victim and then robbed him of his cellphone.
All four cases remain under investigation.
During the week of Feb. 3-9, Town of Herndon officers issued 112 traffic summons, including two for driving while intoxicated, eight for driving with no operators license, and 2 for driving on a suspended license.
There were 11 reportable traffic accidents in Herndon during the week. Virginia State Police define "reportable crashes" as those that result in $1,500 in property damage and/or injury.
