Man Found Dead In Fairfax Station Was From Herndon: Police

A passerby discovered him lying on the side of the road Wednesday morning.

FAIRFAX STATION, VA -- The body discovered by a passerby on the side of the road in Fairfax Station belonged to a Herndon man, police say.

Police identified the deceased man as 30-year-old Michael Cooker of Herndon. He was found shortly before 7 a.m. Wednesday morning in the 6500 block of Colchester Road, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

No weapons were found at the scene, and there's no indication that there is any threat to public safety, police said. However, Cooker "sustained upper body trauma," and authorities are investigating what caused his death, the report states.
