Masked Men Invade Herndon Home, Attack Resident: Police
The victim then chased after the suspects, tackling one and holding him until police arrived, police say.

HERNDON, VA — A man has been arrested and police are looking for more after a group of masked suspects forced their way into a Herndon home, only to have the victim chase one of them down.
The victim was living in an apartment in the 13800 block of Jefferson Park Drive at around 11 p.m. on July 20 when he "heard a banging on the front door," according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.
"When he answered, a group of suspects pushed their way in, some of which had their faces covered," the report states. "The suspects assaulted the victim, and demanded money and a cell phone. They took an undisclosed amount of money, and a cell phone then ran off."

But that wasn't the end of it. The victim and a roommate then pursued the suspects, caught one of them, and after a physical struggle, they were able to hold him until police arrived, the report states.
Police arrested 22-year-old Carlitto Allen of Sterling and charged him with robbery, burglary, and malicious wounding.

The investigation is ongoing, and there does not appear to be any threat to public safety, police say.
