Northam Crushes Perriello In Herndon

Gillespie also easily beat Stewart in the Republican primary in the Herndon precincts.

HERNDON, VA — The results are in, and it appears that Herndon residents heavily favored Ralph Northam over Tom Perriello in the Democratic gubernatorial primary on Tuesday.

With all precincts reporting, Northam -- who ultimately won the nomination -- scored 830 votes in the three Herndon voting precincts, while Perriello received only 594 votes. That's a margin of about 58 percent to 42 percent.

Herndon residents also cast votes in the Republican primary, although in far fewer numbers. Ed Gillespie, the ultimate winner of the Republican nomination, barely edged out Corey Stewart statewide, but his margin was a lot more comfortable in Herndon. He received 259 votes to Stewart's 173, with Frank Wagner receiving 70 votes.
