• Herndon town manager fired after vote from council, less than year in position (dcnewsnow.com) — Herndon's town manager, Dan Hoffman, was abruptly fired by the Town Council after a Sept. 29 vote, leaving Deputy Town Manager Kirstyn Jovanovich to step in as interim leader. Town officials are not explaining the reasons, calling it a personnel matter, but say they'll share next steps for filling the position as the town searches for new leadership.

Fairfax County also offers discounted or free transit options like Fastran, TRIP100, Metro reduced-fare programs, and Metro Lift to help eligible residents stay mobile and independent.
