Police detectives “do not have evidence of criminal activity or suspicious trauma surrounding the death,” the statement added.

The remains were discovered on the evening of Sunday, Feb. 8, by a local resident in the 2900 block of Treadwell Lane, next to a nature walk path that is part of Little Difficult Run Stream Valley Park. The park is between Lawyers Road and Fox Mill Road south of Reston.
