Remember Area Senior Citizens on Giving Tuesday
Your donation is a gift of connection to the community.

This Giving Tuesday, help area senior citizens stay connected with the community. A donation to Herndon Village Network helps non-driving seniors visit their doctors, buy groceries, and more! To make a donation, please visit https://herndonvillagenetwork.org/donate/.
Herndon Village Network (HVN) currently has over 100 senior citizen members, who pay a $20 registration fee for unlimited access to day and evening transportation on weekdays and weekends. This more organized concept of neighbors helping neighbors encourages older residents to age in the Herndon community and allows them to maintain established routines and connections, which results in a higher quality of life. In 2019, HVN drivers provided members 908 rides, totalling 19,578 miles, and in 2020, HVN continued its essential services through the pandemic.
Mary, who uses Herndon Village Network transportation for shopping and doctor visits, explains “Each person who drives you is like an old friend.”

Kay agrees. “The drivers are delightful…. Herndon has become a town I don’t want to leave, and Herndon Village Network has made this possible.”
